Client: IADB office
location: Port-au-Prince, Haiti
Service: Design, Fabricate, Deliver, Install, and Maintain Rooftop, Interactive Solar Photovoltaic Systems, Battery Energy Storage System and Microgrid Controller

The Challenges:

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Haiti Country Office, located in Port-au-Prince, wishes to appoint a company to design, fabricate, deliver, install, and maintain some or all of rooftop, and carport utility-interactive solar photovoltaic systems, a battery energy storage system and microgrid controller, in order to support renewables integration at its offices and to continue its commitment to carbon neutrality.

Solutions:

A smart, reliable and efficiency solar photovoltaic system with battery Storage using the SMA technology and the lithium BYD energy storage system has been installed in the IDB-Haiti premises in 2022. This solution integrates the existing generators and public grid into the new solar system for an automatic and autonomously operation. A total of 162 kWp solar PV (360 panels) has been installed for a total annual energy production of 264 MWh. The system has a storage capacity of 368,64 kWh with lithium battery.

Results:

The IDB office office will be able to operate at from 7 am to 6 pm on renewable energy during the day for its activities and switch automatically on battery, diesel or public grid source during the night depend on the state of charge of the battery. The level of annual renewable energy penetration for the IDB office will be more than 90%.
